Amira Shawky is a Public Policy Consultant at Synerjies, where she adeptly designs and implements public policy assessments to provide actionable and relevant policy recommendations. Since joining Synerjies in 2021, Amira has been actively involved in the planning and implementation of policy and development programs in collaboration with key Egyptian governmental entities, on top of them are the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in addition to leading and assisting across multiple projects and partnerships with international donors and agencies including USAID and GIZ.

Prior to joining Synerjies, Amira was an Economic Researcher at Egypt’s Ministry of Finance, where she worked at the Transparency and Citizen Engagement Unit on high-profile research and policy-based projects. Her earlier job roles included performing primary and secondary research, community outreach, project management and implementation, and monitoring & evaluation.

Amira’s well-rounded professional expertise is further enriched by her academic background, as she holds a Bachelor’s in Economics and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in International Political Economy, both from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University. With her dedication and excellence, Amira aspires to help elevate policy-driven efforts across Egypt and the MENA region through her work with Synerjies by producing outstanding policy recommendations that enable clients and partners to translate their visions into reality.
